    Hello all!

We recently sent out an email tease showing that we were working on building an integration to Cdiscount, a major French marketplace.

That integration is now live in Volo Origin and we have several customers already live and trading on the marketplace. This thread has some background info on the marketplace and our integration, and will help you assess whether this is an appropriate opportunity for your business.

    Cdiscount quick stats:

    • ~13,000,000 monthly visitors
    • Most popular site in France for consumer electronics
    • Wide-ranging category coverage
    • Second largest French ecommerce site
    • The monthly fee is €39, and commission varies between 5%-20% depending on product category - comparable to Amazon.
    • As a Volo customer, Cdiscount give you VIP status.
    • As part of this, you don’t pay the first 5 months base fee, and you also get a Cdiscount account manager who will support you with listing to Cdiscount.

There are a few limitations to bear in mind:
    • To cancel or edit an order, you’ll need to make the changes in Cdiscount, then amend the order in Origin.
    • You’ll need to list to Cdiscount directly, not through Origin.
    • Communication with buyers needs to be managed through Cdiscount.
    • Shipping is to French domestic addresses
    • Any products which come with a plug will need to be shipped with an adapter for French sockets.

For more detail, please check out the Knowledge Base article on Cdiscount.

To register your interest and move into the onboarding process, please raise a Resolution Centre ticket labelled "Cdiscount Setup".

We're up and running with just one small range of our products, and having some success already!

Its a bit more involved process than listing to eBay, Amazon or Flubit (having to manually submit spreadsheets of data to Cdiscount) but hopefully the integration will develop further to make this process smoother.

    Great to hear that Stuart!

It's obviously still early days but have you picked up on anything unique to selling on Cdiscount that might be useful for others to know? As we get more customers onto Cdiscount we're basically learning alongside you and putting that info into the Knowledge Base for everyone - any feedback is really helpful for that.

One thing to bear in mind is that as Cdiscount match up your products using product identifiers, just like with Amazon, it is important that your barcodes are correct. But then again, just like with Amazon, we have found a few products that they have matched to the wrong product, just because their catalogue product has the wrong barcode.
So all I'll say for now is that when Cdiscount send your file back with their matched SKUs, don't expect it to be 100% perfect!

    "Frais de traitement"
    https://kb.volocommerce.com/m/70243/l/797967-pay-by-installments

A workaround for this I found was to do the following:
    1. The 'Frais de traitement' product will get added to a blank purchase order, when you create purchase orders through the Backorders tab.
    2. Select any supplier on the Purchase Order, and amend the quantity to a high number, say 200.
    3. Then confirm the Purchase Order, and receive it into stock through the Deliveries section.
    4. For any new Cdiscount orders, the 'Frais de traitement' product will be allocated from free stock, meaning you don't need to split it off, as your sales order can be printed as normal.
This works as long as the 'Frais de traitement' product remains without a stocknumber; as soon as you try to access it in the Inventory Details section, Volo Origin will prompt you to enter a stock number.
Certainly a little less convoluted than the process described in the Knowledge Base article! :angelic:
